Catching up with the FC**Tennis academy

The sun was out and conditions perfect for our academy to excel in their matches over the Half Term period and excel they did – producing some fantastic results!

There was a proud moment for British National Champion Jasmine Asghar who played in her first $50,000 Women’s tournament at Eastbourne and consequently receives a world ranking point.

Two of our under 10 stars Ranah Stoiber and Sophya Devas both showed their immense potential by reaching the final of the Under 10 Grade 3 Wimbledon Club tournament. Ranah went on to lift the trophy.

Four of our players made the prestige under 16 Clay Court National Championships at Queenswood, which in itself is a huge achievement.  Congratulations to Ingimar Tomasson, Benjamin Heynold , Mone Baptiste and Alessandra Ruggieri . A special mention goes to Alessandra who went on to make the quarter finals.

Elsewhere Nikolai Marin made the semi final of the Grade 2 Halton event and on his way knocked out the number one seed!  He also participated in the under 12’s Clay Court Nationals. Whilst Lee Sadler made the semi finals of the Under 16 Park Langley tournament and Athina Radicopoulos had the honour of being selected for the Under 10’s Middlesex Cup.

As you can see once again the players from FC**Tennis continue to make us proud, showing that hard work in training can lead to some fantastic results.

Not all of our academy managed to make it out on court last week as they were revising for exams. We wish all those players good luck and are looking forward to having them back at the centre in the upcoming weeks.
