Marco Penge of Dukes Meadows golf academy represents team GB
Every Tuesday PGA golf coach and Performance Consultant Alex Saary comes down to Dukes Meadows and trains some of the finest young golfers in the country, in our very own golf academy.
One of those golfers Marco Penge just came back from Sweden after competing in the Jacques Leglise Trophy, which is labelled as the “Mini Ryder Cup” however in this case it’s GB & Ireland vs Central Europe as opposed to Europe vs USA.
Marco was in outstanding form winning 3 out of 4 of his matches whilst beating the world no 5 amateur golfer along the way. This contributed to Team GB and Ireland’s narrow victory over Central Europe by a score of 12.5 to 11.5.
Marco said via his Facebook Page that he was delighted to be selected and help contribute to the winning team.
“Great week out in Sweden with the GB&I boys! It was neck and neck all the way but we got through it to win 12.5 – 11.5 and I won 3/4 points to help the team! My game feels back to it’s best now, looking forward to going to Spain on Tuesday to win out there!”
A phenomenal achievement from Marco, congratulations from everyone at Dukes Meadows.
The elite golf academy at Dukes Meadows started earlier this year on June 3rd. To be part of the academy requires an invitation from Dukes Meadows and we look forward to highlighting more success stories.
